shouldnt you be trying to avoid head shots?????
If a head is all I can see thats what I'll shoot. I will try to avoid it if the person isn't wearing a helmet though. If i can take a body shot I will since it makes more sense to go centre mass anyway.
Because of the nature of Taffy's site, head's peering over the top of bushes/mounds were mostly all you could see anyway.
Yes, the same with alot of sites; particularly in summer with high ground cover. Yet another reason to recommend wearing a helmet.
*that* and helmets look better IMO! hehe
Indeed they do, and they're far more distinctive than a cap.
All rank insignia must either be removed or approved by an organiser
Just noticed this. Does it apply for the German senior EM ranks (Gefreiter / Obergefreiter - similar to PFC)?
Em ranks are fine.
I just dont want majors and scharfuhrers turning up.
"I think we are in rats' alley - Where the dead men lost their bones."
Basically we just want people to let us know the ranks they have on. By the sounds of it NCO ranks are all fine for Germans...
For the allies, anything lower than Sergeant is fine.
Also the stripes on the back of US helmets should be avoided, as those who are 'of rank' in the game are not doing it then it would be helpful if other's didn't too.
Surely the stripe system for the "real" CO and NCOs will be useful if you want to try out some WWII squad tactics?
They'll be wearing insignia on their uniforms, just not on their helmets.
It was not always used too, and apparently getting masking tape to stick on some helmets is a pain.
To the Germans and Americans, Corporal and below were buckshee ranks anyway. Have you SEEN how many grades of Sergeant the yanks have/had?
When I want your opinion - I'll tell you what it is!

yup. Apparently a squad of 12 men had 4 NCO ranks in it.
Could be worse ANZAC sections were 12-15 men led by a lieutenant. Thats five officers per platoon!

Didn't the pre-WWI Austro Hungarian army have something like one officer to every three EM? All to do with a class system where anyone with a "von" in front of their name was a shoe-in for a commission?
(dimly remembered from third form history lessons)
The US stripe system always seemed a very simple and elegant way for the guys behind to know who to follow.
works well in theory, but all it took was a turn of the neck and a german marksman's found his target.
NCO'S would also turn their jackets inside out to hide the chevrons to stop getting pick out as a target.(don't fancy doing that myself though)

Keep 'em on Obergefreiter. You are going to need them
